Minister Where You Are For the next two years, Paul lived in Rome at his own expense. He welcomed all who visited him, boldly proclaiming the Kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ. And no one tried to stop him. Acts 28:30-31 In Acts 28 we read of Paul's arrival in Rome to appear before Caesar, and while awaiting his hearing, he was placed under house arrest. Paul waited two years before his case could be heard, and what did he do during that time? He continued to tell people about Christ! Paul is a great example to us in this way: No matter where we are, God will give us opportunities to tell people about Christ. Whether at work, in the gym, at the beach, or going for a walk in the neighborhood. If we'll open our eyes, we'll see opportunities that God will place in front of us to share our faith. Even in the midst of a difficult time, as Paul found himself in, we can share about Christ. Matter of fact, difficult times are often the most fruitful times to share our faith. People take note when instead of our focus being on ourselves, or our difficult circumstances, we're focused on the Lord as He carries us through the trial. 2 Timothy 4:2 tells us: Be ready in season and out of season. 2 Tim 4:2 Where's your life today? Are you "in season," or "out of season?" Are you in a great place, or a difficult place? Wherever you are, whatever your circumstances, take a moment to ask the Lord "Lord, is there someone I can share my faith with today?" I think you'll be surprised at the answer! "Lord, I thank you for this day that you've given me, and I thank you for the circumstances that I'm in today, as I trust that they've filtered through your loving hands. Open my eyes to the divine appointments that you have for me today, and give me the words to say. Help me be the light of Christ to someone today. Amen" Pastor Clay PS - These devotionals are not meant to be your "time in the word" each day, but rather to be an encouragement for you to spend time in the bible yourself, and allow God to speak into your life by His word and His Holy Spirit. Most days these devo's come from my reading of the One Year Bible, which is a great way to stay in the word each day. May the Lord bless you as you spend time with Him each day!
