| | Living Free - Galatians 5:13 For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love. Galatians 5:13 As regenerated sons and daughters of God - we have been given liberty – we are now free: - Free from the guilt of sin
- Free from the penalty of sin
- Free from the power of sin
- Free to serve God
- Free to LOVE one another – and through love serve one another
In other words, our freedom has been given to us not so that we can do whatever we want, but to fulfill the Law of Love! And we do this by submitting ourselves to the influence, the direction, and the pace of God's Spirit that dwells in us Yet in the midst of this environment of liberty and love there is a battle that rages for control – of YOU! It's a battle between the Spirit of God, and our flesh, the natural man. The natural man wants to satisfy it's natural appetite, which by the way are not all evil; We all have a desire for food, shelter and warmth, and to be loved. There's nothing wrong with these desires. The problem comes when a person allows their desires to be the guiding force of how they live. The objective of life becomes having their desires met, which leads to seeking to fulfill those desires in inappropriate ways. The natural man is never satisfied. The solution is not to pit our strength against our desires, but rather to surrender our will to the Spirit of God that lives in us! The Spirit of God that raised Jesus Christ from the dead is the same Spirit of God that is in you that will give you LIFE. God is real and He desires to be involved in every aspect of your life, not to control you like a puppet, but to give your life direction and purpose! God has set you free to live a life that will bring freedom to others, which glorifies your Father in Heaven. "Lord, help me to live today surrendered to Your Holy Spirit that lives in me." Pastor Clay P.S. Tammy and I will be out of town on a 'mini-getaway' this Monday, so I will not be sending out my devo that day. I'l resume on Tuesday! ~PC | | | | | | |
