| | Limitless - Ephesians 3:8-13 Tammy and I have come to the point in our lives where we're almost empty-nesters; Three of our four children are out of the house, moving forward with their lives. Yet no matter how far they go, there are times when there's a need, and you know who gets the call; Mom and dad! Whether it's a bit of advice, prayer, or a few dollars to tide them over till payday, our kids know they can call us. They have access to us, and confidence that we'll be there for them. But our assistance has limits, based on our resources. In Ephesians 3 Paul teaches us that we as Christians have access to the Father, but His resources aren't limited: To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. Ephesians 3:8-13 Through Christ, you and I have access to our Heavenly Father, and we can approach Him with boldness and confidence. But unlike our family, God's resources are limitless, and He has made them available to Christ, and because of our fellowship with Christ, they're now available to us as well. The word unsearchable in the Greek "anexichniastos," which gives us the idea of something so vast that it's impossible to comprehend it all. Like grains of sand on the beach, you could count them for the next million years, and still not be able to come up with a final count. Such are the riches of God; Grace, mercy, love, provision, strength, purpose; All of these things, and more, unsearchable more, are ours through Christ. "Heavenly Father, thank you that I can come to you with boldness and confidence, and that I now have have access to the unsearchable riches of Christ." Pastor Clay | | | | | | |
